About the author - Heiner de Wendt

Hi there! My name is Heiner, and I’m a fantasy author and the creator of Braythe.

I’ve started my writing journey pretty much as soon as I was able to write. In elementary school, I’ve written my first short stories – and focused on that during my youth. I started a couple of novels, but life kept happening, and I had to become a middle-aged man before finding a process that worked for me.

Part of that is because I realized I’m neurodivergent (self-diagnosed ADHD), which creates its own set of challenges as a writer. The good news is, now I’ve found my process – and you can bet I’ll keep on writing novels as long as I’m capable.

While I haven’t published any novels yet, I have released my own roleplaying setting – you can find out all about it on braythe.com. The universe of Braythe is also where all my future fantasy novels will be set – at least, as far as I have planned it for now.

I currently live in Cologne, Germany with my wonderful (and extremely supportive) wife. Aside from writing and reading, I love roleplaying games, bingewatching creative shows, and I deeply care about mental health and human rights.
