About the author
Disappointed by the world’s lack of magic and dragons, Heiner de Wendt chose to cope by writing fantasy stories. After focusing on shorter fiction for many years, he completed his debut novel, Dawn of Silence, in 2025.
Heiner’s novels take place in the fictional universe Braythe, which he first introduced as an RPG setting. As a passionate roleplayer, Heiner immersed himself in plenty of fantasy adventures before writing his first novel in this world—with plans to write many more and to continue expanding this fantasy universe.
As an avid reader himself, Heiner loves stories with compelling characters and unique worlds. In his teenage years, authors like R.A. Salvatore and Terry Pratchett had a huge influence on him. Nowadays he loves to read fellow Indie authors like Nicole McKeon and J. Ross. He also enjoys anime, sci-fi and Korean shows.
When he finds time alongside his digital marketing job, Heiner discusses books, psychology, and antifascism, both on social media and in his author newsletter.
